"Daphne Transformed"
Watercolor and ink on Bristol – in 16 x 20 gold frame

This loose expresive painting has gold ink drawn on it to highlight the movement. As you look from different angles you see the gold ink pick up light.
“Daphne Transformed” shows the beauty and struggle of women, through the transformation of Daphne (from Greek Mythology), changing into a tree by the river bank to escape the intentions of Apollo. Here she is a glorious and vibrant woman in her natural element.
It won the ‘Artwork of the Month’ award at the Museum of European Art in October 2002. This is a people’s choice award selecting from all the artwork on display that month.
