I painted this while sitting at the Great Blue Heron Rookery at the Sterling Nature Center (NY). What a beautiful nature center this is with clearly marked trails; one walk going near Lake Ontario and right up to the Heron Rookery. You can just sit on a bench there and quietly observe. I Ended up sitting on the deck the benches were set upon…just felt good to stretch out and lay my things around me. This view was at the very edge of the water where a huge tree had fallen into it.
