“Braidlie Burn and Valley”

Watercolor pencil

I did this little painting while on a walk with my husband. He headed further up the valley to explore, but I was too chicken because there were cows! But I took advantage of a short pause to do this with watercolor pencils in my field sketchbook. We had walked down that grey gravel path you see, to get here. I think this is the famous valley where Mary Queen of Scots had lost her ring, she definitely rode through here, which I think is very exciting to imagine.
