“Celtic Lady of the Lake” in Top Ten at Museum of European Art

"Celtic Lady of the Lake"

"Celtic Lady of the Lake"

At the exhibition “Homage to Salvador Dali” at the Museum of European Art on September 5th, “Celtic Lady of the Lake” (oil) was selected as one of the top ten favorite paintings voted on by visitors to the museum! There were over 40 different artists displaying works, some from the Buffalo/Niagara region and many international artists.

I couldn’t attend though I had two pieces in the show, as I’m way over in England!

Click here to view the painting in the Goddess Gallery.

This painting was commissioned for the cover of a CD album by a Celtic musician Sheila Stratton-Peel and I have hand signed CD’s available if anyone is interested! @ $10 each.

It’s been years since I’ve shown at the MEA and in the past I had paintings selected as the Painting of the Month, that is the top one favorite selected by guests. Those paintings were: “Exquisite” a portrait of a Classical Indian Dancer, a portrait of “Salvador Dali” and also my Mythological painting of “Daphne Transformed”.  Please click on these to read about them and see a picture in my gallery.

If I get pictures sent to me of this show, I’ll be sure to add them to this post…so if anyone attended and has some?? Please send them my way.

This is a great work of art and i really like your portrait of Salvador. You wouldnt happen to know the other 9 favorite paintings?

  • Hi Rob,
Well here’s a link to the museum website, but it’s not a great site for finding things! No search box or links to past shows etc. I don’t know the winner’s offhand but have a look around. http://www.meaus.com/

I love this work so much! It’s so beautiful…
I’m writing a story for my creative writing class and there are many celtic elements to it. I’ve actually used the symbol in the painting.
Since I came across this painting I thought I’d let you know how wonderful it is. 🙂

  • thank you so much Destiny, I really had fun painting it and I love learning about he meaning of symbols too. I’ve always been drawn somehow to this particular symbol, I have a pinky ring I always wear with it on and that same ring appears in many of my Goddess paintings. I’d love to read your story (if it’s not too long!) if you want to share with me, that’d be cool.
    Take care,
    Mary

I’d love to! I plan on making a novel of it, although not much is written just yet.
I wouldn’t mind emailing you the beginning at all.
Also, would you mind if I used this painting for my cover of my semester project? Of course I’ll be sure to give you proper credt. 🙂

  • “Destiny” I’m sorry I didn’t get to publish or read your comment until now! Please let me know how your book comes along, I’d like to hear what it’s about. I’m sure it’s too late now, but you do have my permission to use the picture one time as the cover to your project, not reproduced more than the one copy. Thanks, keep me posted.
