“Flank of Arnton Fell, Spring”

I painted this little painting right from my back garden. It was a beautiful spring day with lambs in the field, big wet puddles by the gate. There was that wonderful light that you get in the hills, dark skies and shadows on the hills then suddenly bright patches to draw your eye to the amazing details of the land. You can see the Copper Beech and Hawthorn hedges were getting busy growing and filling in.
