“Flamingo” Soft Pastel    SOLD

This is one of my earliest bird paintings, and it’s the first time I ever used chalk pastels. I was about to start my first year of college in Binghamton, and I would be taking art classes along with my general curriculum. I was nervous because I never took drawing or painting lessons, so I sat down and created this pastel of a Red Flamingo. I wish I had a clearer picture of it, but there were no high resolution digital scans back in 1980. It sold when I was in University at Buffalo State, so I don’t have access to it. But I do have very nice Greeting Cards of it with matching bookmarks and gift tags!
