Mouse family in the Leaves

Read more about this painting on my blog posts here to see it unfinished and here to see it as an ink drawing. This mother mouse is a bit frightened of the little spider as her two babies hide under the leaves.

I love when the Shaggy Ink Cap mushrooms pop up randomly in the grass. Everyday they change as they develop then disappear as they roll up their shaggy sides. The spider is based on the many tiny spiders that spend all their time running about in the grass and leaves on the ground.
